WingWorks Vest

Postby gdog on Sun Jul 25, 2010 10:57 am

After reading a few reviews, I went and ordered a WingWorks vest. They are having a sale on the new upgrade option of blaze orange harness on the khaki vest with an extra water bottle. Saves you about $20 if you ordered these options. I really wasn't looking for the blaze orange harness option, but figured with the offer, I'd give it a whirl.

Received the vest in 3 days from placing my order. They were out of the blaze orange harness, so they sent me the standard khaki harness with a note saying they'ed send the orange one when it was back in stock. Though that was pretty cool.

As others have said, the vest is built really well and seems to have plenty of storage. I have been using a Quilomene vest for a long time and like it, but there are a few things that I felt were missing that the WingWorks has. Additional lash down straps for a jacket and a specific pocket for my G3 TT transmitter. Plus, last year I mostly used water bottles instead of a bladder and that seems to work better for me and the dog. Vest seems to be built more durable all around. Fits great and is plenty adjustable.

Looking forward to putting a few birds in it...

Nice to hear.
Let us know how you like it compared to the Quilomene.
The loadbearing capabilities with the WW are amazing. I carry a ton of weight for a full day of chukar hunting, and barely notice it if the shoulder and waste straps are adjusted correctly (according to the instructions that came with the vest)

I bought a stainless steel Nalgene bottle for me. I really like drinking ice cold water from the stainless bottles (especially compared to a nasty bladder). And you can freeze it about half full the night before to keep the water cold.

And if you need to carry extra water (for multiple dogs, etc...) you can add a CamelBak Unbottle to that little pocket in the game back and water the dogs with the bladder.

Your gonna love that new WW vest, nothing better IMO. Like was said in the previous post the load the vest will carry is unreal. When I bought mine from Bob last year the first thing I did was fill both 32 oz. water bottles and the extra 54 oz. water water bottle that goes in the back compartment, then I filled the shell pockets with about 25 shells. I put the vest on cinched up the waist belt and could not believe how light the thing felt on my back with 118 oz. of water loaded in it! A great vest produced by a great guy/hunter!!
